Cultural Experience
Nyùmba ya Mùmbi is the heartbeat of Davida Getaway. It is a Cultural Heritage space that seeks to reconnect the present with our roots.
Within it we take a good look at traditional practices that gave form, meaning, and direction to the Agikuyu peoples of the central part of Kenya.
We do this through physical artefacts, and modern technology. The experience is augmented with actual story-tellers, as passed on to them in their youth, by elder members of the society
Lake O'bolosat
At apprx 2,340m, it is the highest lake of its size in East Africa. A paradise for birdwatchers, with over 300 bird species. A home for hippos as well. Unique in having some sections of salty waters, much as it is primarily a fresh water lake. The lake has filled up again lately due to the sustained rains in the last few years. Motor boats are now part of the refreshing experience in the exploration of the flora and fauna of this ecosystem
