Kariuki Ngari is a highly accomplished banking executive with 30 years of experience, having played a pivotal role in transforming Consumer Banking at Standard Chartered Bank Kenya and across the Africa Region. As the Global Head of Retail Distribution for Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore, he was instrumental in shaping the future of retail banking, leading the digitization of physical, voice, and virtual channels to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

His tenure as Regional Head of Retail Clients, Africa (2013-2015) and Executive Director of Standard Chartered Bank Kenya (2009-2013) further solidified his reputation for driving innovation and strategic growth in the financial sector. Kariuki has also held senior leadership roles at Absa Bank Kenya PLC, where he contributed to advancing retail banking strategies.

In addition to his executive leadership, Kariuki holds multiple board positions, serving as a Non-Executive Director at Standard Chartered Bank Uganda and providing strategic oversight on various Standard Chartered Bank Kenya subsidiary boards. His commitment to sustainable business practices is evident in his role on the Board of the UN Global Compact, where he contributes to global initiatives that align business growth with environmental and social responsibility.

In this role, she leads strategic engagements focused on transaction structuring, cross-border tax optimization, and regulatory compliance for high-growth enterprises and institutional investors.

Beatrice is also the Head of Tax and Accounting at ushuru.co.ke, where she oversees end-to-end tax compliance, strategic advisory, and financial reporting for SMEs, corporates, and high-net-worth individuals. Orero has a career spanning over 19 years in Banking and Wealth Management  across Africa, he has worked in senior roles covering Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania,  Nigeria , Ghana ,Zambia and Botswana with responsibilities overseeing wealth products growth in these markets.

His key areas of expertise include formulating and implementing high level strategy and business models to deliver commercial objectives; assembling and leading successful senior management teams; driving major revenue generation, cost rationalization and process re-engineering programs; embedding robust performance management to drive sales, service, and operational excellence; and a deep understanding of risk management within Wealth Management.

Orero is a Chartered member of the CISI (Chartered institute of securities and Investment UK), a Member of ACI – Financial Markets Association – Kenya Chapter and Member of ICIFA (The Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts- Kenya).
